For the first time, outgoing US President Donald Trump acknowledged Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election, but stressed that he would not give in and would continue to seek to nullify the results.
Trump's comments came in Sunday's tweets, including allegations about the November 3 election, which state and federal officials say were impartial.
Trump had previously refused to acknowledge the election results, and he tweeted again Sunday via Twitter: "I am not giving up anything, we have a long way to go."
Despite apparently acknowledging Biden’s victory, Trump claimed without evidence that the former vice president had won only because the elections were "rigged."
Then Trump reviewed unfounded allegations about influencing election observers, recording and counting votes, and affirmed, "We will win."
Twitter quickly published warnings about Trump's tweets, especially that election officials from both the Democratic and Republican parties announced that the elections went well, and international observers confirmed that there were no serious violations.
Meanwhile, Trump said Sunday that he will soon file "major" lawsuits challenging the results of the presidential election in which Joe Biden defeated him, despite his campaign losing numerous court battles over the results.
Trump did not specify whether his campaign will file new lawsuits, but he said on Twitter: "Our big cases will soon be filed that show the unconstitutionality of the 2020 elections and anger over things that happened to change the outcome."
