The former Spanish king, Juan Carlos, decided to leave his country, after accusations that he was involved in corruption cases.
A statement issued by the royal family, Monday, stated that Carlos sent a letter to his son King Felipe, indicating his desire to leave Spain.
He explained that Carlos mentioned in the letter the possibility of returning to testify when necessary.
