Social media activists shared a video of New York police assault on an African American citizen on Sunday, which required the arrest of a policeman.
The police officer - named David Avanador - strangled the young American of African descent in the "Rockaway Queens" area of New York City, with the assistance of his other colleagues who beat him, while they didn't even touch the two other white-skinned men who were accompanying him.
The video was widely circulated on the media, and Officer Avanador appears to suffocate the young man by pressing his neck.
New York police said they punished and suspended the officer.
New York Police Commissioner Dermot Frances said, "Accountability in the area of police work is essential, and after a speedy internal investigation, the police officer involved in the Queens neighborhood accident was arrested with his salary suspended."
"Although the investigation is still ongoing, this immediate measure is necessary, and we are committed to transparency while continuing this process," he added.
It is noteworthy that this new attack of white policemen on African Americans, coincides with the continuing repercussions of the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota inside and outside America.
It also comes days after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to reform the police, preventing security personnel from using the throttle position while arresting suspects.
